Community issues I’ll be fighting for:

1. HOUSING

Recognizing the gravity of this issue, Jenny stands as a staunch advocate for the passage of the Good Cause Eviction Bill. This critical legislation aims to protect tenants by establishing fair and justifiable reasons for eviction, ensuring that individuals and families are not unjustly displaced due to skyrocketing rents or arbitrary eviction practices. Jenny's support for the Good Cause Eviction Bill reflects her commitment to preserving affordable housing, promoting stability, and safeguarding the rights of community members to remain in their homes.. #GoodCauseNOW

2. PUBLIC EDUCATION

New York City grapples with one of the most segregated school systems in the country as a result of exclusionary zoning practices that have effectively created neighborhood-based divisions. Furthermore, budget cuts have disproportionately impacted our neighborhood in AD 72 Part B. If elected as district leader, Jenny will be a fierce advocate for education. She understands that investing in our schools and providing equitable opportunities for all students is crucial for the future success of our community.

3. GUN VIOLENCE

Gun violence remains a pressing issue that demands urgent attention in our community, and it is one that Jennyfer is determined to address head-on. With a deep-rooted concern for the safety and well-being of our residents, Jennyfer recognizes that gun violence not only threatens lives but also tears at the fabric of our community. She will champion policies aimed at preventing gun violence and creating a safer neighborhood. Additionally, Jennyfer will push for increased investment in community-based initiatives that address the root causes of violence and provide support and resources to individuals at risk of engaging in gun-related incidents.

3. HEALTHCARE FOR ALL NEW YORKERS!

The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on the vulnerability of New Yorkers due to the lack of accessible and high-quality healthcare for all. It is unacceptable for healthcare to be prohibitively expensive, forcing individuals to make tough decisions between essential medication and basic necessities. The introduction of the New York Health Act aims to tackle this problem by providing comprehensive healthcare coverage to every resident. Jenny, an advocate for the NY Health Act, plays a pivotal role in organizing the annual NY Health Act Bike Ride—an event that seeks to emphasize the pressing need for the implementation of a single-payer healthcare system.
